The Argyll Pictures & Framing website provides our customers with a far greater range of prints, frames and services than ever before. It will offer our customers the ability to “try before they buy” as the website will enable any image to be virtually framed online. Have a look at our innovative "frame it" functionality by first choosing a print and then choosing to have it framed. A large section of the website will be dedicated to the artists we promote and within the sub site, our artists have free run on how they wish to present and display their individual works of art; what size, format and media the artist chooses at will. Our aim is to promote the individual artist with our full power; if no work sells then there is no fee for this at all. There are many websites that showcase artists' work but we offer the ability to sell the work and create an income as well as offering a vehicle to promote their art.
We understand that there is a huge amount of artistic talent out there but unfortunately, the majority of this talent is kept hidden away because of the large costs involved in publicising and advertising as an individual artist. We offer the artists a chance to join a group of people who work together to promote themselves, network with art buyers and with one another. Clearly, the advantages Argyll Pictures brings to this community are massive promotion and production capabilities. We will be doing the majority of the promotional work so the artists can concentrate on the important task of producing world class art.
Environmentally Friendly
Argyll Pictures & Framing maintains a watchful eye on environmental issues concerning the framing industry. Mountboard Our mountboard is manufactured in the UK by James Cropper plc. who operate an Environmental Management System which complies with the requirements of BS EN ISO14001 and ISO 9001:2000. All wood pulp in our mountboard is taken from sustainable sources where there are strict forest management regulations. The pulp is bought mainly from Scandinavia and a small proportion from North America and Canada. The standard board core, making up 80% of the board, is mechanically pulped which means the majority of the tree trunk can be used so there is much less waste. In our higher grades, the pulps used are increasingly Total Chlorine Free (TCF) pulps, in the drive to introduce more ranges of papers of good environmental pedigree. During the manufacturing process, recycling plays a key part from the water used in the process (over 90% of which is recycled, and no liquid effluent is pumped into local rivers) to the trimmings from the final boards – enabled by the use of water-based adhesives which disperse easily once re-pulped. Mouldings (Frames)Our mouldings are sourced worldwide and our suppliers have assured us that all timber is sourced from forests, which operate in accordance with the principles of good forest management. A large percentage of timber used for Arqadia mouldings are produced legitimately as proved by the Certificate of Legal Forest Products or SKSHH gained from their suppliers when the lumber is shipped to the company. SKSHH or Certificate of Legal Forest Products is a certificate issued by the government Forestry Office as acknowledgment that a forest product is legally produced from renewable forests.
